Mini Cheesecakes

For a recent baby shower, the hostess asked that I prepare mini cheesecakes (the new mom's favorite!) to go along with their custom cupcakes.

They weren't too keen on the traditional cherry topping so we opted for some fresh raspberries with a spritz of powdered sugar. According to the hostess, although the cupcakes were a hit, the cheesecakes stole the show!

"Trendy Mommy" Baby Shower

I was contacted by the hostess of the shower to create custom cupcakes that would compliment all the "Trendy Mommy" decorations she had purchased. Below was the overall theme and color scheme. This pattern would appear on the napkins, plates, banners, favors and more!

In keeping with the color scheme and modern flowers and dots to celebrate her cousin's new baby girl, I created a fondant embellishment that would top each cupcake. Half of these cupcakes were our most popular chocolate recipe, while the other half were a newly tested vanilla bean recipe that is quickly rivaling the chocolate! Each cupcake was topped with a frilly ruffle of pink buttercream frosting.

Hello Kitty First Birthday Party

There is no greater feeling than celebrating your baby's first birthday. Rejoice over their love, health and how much they've grown since you brought them home from the hospital yesterday....I mean a year ago :)
This particular one-year-old happened to be my niece. With her new-found interest in kitty cats, her party was themed around Hello Kitty.
Her cupcake tower featured fresh strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese strawberry frosting and fondant embellishments.
A six-inch cake was created just for her to have a little fun with.
Well... her and her big sister! "Oh my...I can't believe I ate that much icing!"
A funny family picture to remember. Happy Birthday Emma!
