Curious George Birthday Party

What little child doesn't love Curious George?!?!?

This little girl calls birthdays, "Happy Days!" So on her cake, it just had to say 3rd "Happy Day."

These were custom-made cupcake toppers and wrappers to go along with the entire yellow and red color scheme I selected.
All the photography was also provided by Compliments of Kim. Here are some fun shots from the day!

The birthday girl and her little sister.

Monkey Baby Shower Cake

This baby shower cake was for a couple who are waiting to find out the gender of the baby! They wanted green and brown...and baby monkeys!

Along with the Red Velvet Cake, I also served a Chocolate Fudge Cake with Chocolate Mousse Filling. Congratulations Troy and Carol!!!

Ruffle Cake

One of the newest cake design trends is the Ruffle Cake! It's crisp and delicate ruffles are best displayed with a blush pink color and a peonie to adorn the top of the cake. This particular cake was a six-layer Chocolate Fudge Cake with a Chocolate Mousse filling....my favorite!

Winter-themed Bridal Shower

This bridal shower was for a bride of mine that is having a "Winter Wonderland" type of wedding this January. We decided to theme her shower around the wedding for a little preview!

Some of the elements include, crystals, pearls, candles and babies breath.

The desserts provided were Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes and a Caramel Apple Spice Cake for seasonal flavors.

Each guest left the shower with an Almond Sugar Cookie favor.

Round vs. Square?

I have been meeeting with more and more brides that are having a hard time choosing between a round and a square cake. They both have their stunning qualities!

Do they let go of the tradition of a round cake, a circular symbol of neverending love?

A square wedding cake pushes a more modern design with its crisp edges and corners.

However a round cake is a statement of elegance and simplicity.

With either shape, flower placement also comes into play.

If you are having difficulty choosing, move on to another aspect of the cake that you might have a more definitive opinion on. For instance, scattered flowers on each tier tend to favor a square cake due to its corners. Flowing flowers tend to favor a round cake. And flowers in between the tiers can go either way you wish.

In the end, it's really your personal preference. Happy decision making!

Rustic Wedding

This 'Rustic Wedding' was custom designed down to every last detail. The bride wanted a rustic feel without losing the necessary romantic flair.

A lot of different details were wound together to create this ambiance, including wine bottles, taper candles, lit branches, twigs, moss and more!

Every element is sought out to create a unique display.

These sweet hand-crafted love birds were a perfect find to adorn the top of the cake.

Congratulations again you two!
